Surely, my Lord is very merciful, most loving.” - Surah Hud(هود) 11:90
A believer is different from an unbelieving person, their lives, the way they are and think is very different, it is what separate a believing person from the rest they have taqwa, iman, fear and love of Allah.
The believers is conscious that this life is a journey it's not meant to last forever, everything is done for the purpose to gain the love of Allah, as for the non believers they get attached to this world, they do everything for material gain as if they will live here forever.
And of them some look towards you; will you, then, guide the blind, even though they can see nothing? Yunus 10:43
If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely. Verse (3:160)
And be not like those who forgot Allah , so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient. Verse (59:19)
There is no guidance for those who forgot Allah, these are the people who live an insignificant life, a life without purpose, everything they do has no real value.
But We leave the ones who do not expect the meeting with Us, in their transgression, wandering blindly Verse (10:11)
He loves them, and they love Him
Believing in This Time
THEY FORGOT ALLAH, SO ALLAH FORGOT THEM (9:76 Tawba).

Worldly Praise, Worldly Titles & Worldly Gains
All praise is due to Allah(swt) alone, only Allah (Swt) deserve all honors. These worldly honors given by men never last long and neither does their titles, and wealth bring any peace, security or happiness. Allah alone can raise a believer to a higher rank and give them their titles, and honors in this world and the next.
Allah is the Wali (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their Auliya (supporters and helpers) are Taghut [false deities and false leaders, etc.], they bring them out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.. Verse (2:257)
The believers serve & fight for the cause of Allah alone, as for those who disbelieve they fight for their own selfishness & serve their own pride & ego. They have separated themselves from Allah they do not have the protection of Allah neither are they guided.
Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan. - An-Nisa (The women 4:76)
What did the unbelievers achieve that we didn't?
The delusion of shaytan has mislead a great number of us into false hope and deception.
Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but satan's promises are nothing but deception.
An-Nisa (The Women) 4:120
All that the unbelievers achieved how did all this benefit us or them.
Where are the pharaohs of ancient Egypt, the kings, queens, and other royals, they all became dust and disappeared along with their kingdoms, their civilisation power and wealth, these were given for a short time
Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed them completely and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers.
And (We destroyed) ‘Ād and Thamūd, and it is visible to you through their dwellings. And the Satan had beautified for them their deeds, so he prevented them from the (right) way, even though they were people of insight. (Muhammad)
